12.november 2004. I defended my Ph.D. thesis at the
University of Southern Denmark in Odense,
Denmark, and gave a lecture entitled "Sound
production, sound communication, and echolocation in marine mammals -
adaptations to environmental constraints".
Summary of my Ph.D. thesis
The overall goal of this study was to describe the
communication and echolocation sounds recorded from white-beaked
dolphins in Icelandic waters.
The basic acoustic and descriptive parameters
of white-beaked dolphin clicks and whistles are analysed in paper I (whistles and clicks) and II (echolocation and social signals). In
